A benefit for the Ashland Community Food Bank

We’ll be writing poorly for good twice that week!

The solstice write will follow the same format as the 18th (see below for more details).

Writing twice in a week invites us to welcome the light and dive even deeper.

Please e-mail me a copy of your on-line donation to the Ashland Community Food Bank (ACFB) or mail me a check for $25* (or $50 for both dates) made out to the ACFB by December 15th to reserve a spot in the circle. And call or email me to let me know you’re coming.

Writing poorly…?

Yep. That’s right. Wild writing is about coming home to ourselves. It’s a safe harbor where up to eight of us will write to three easily understood poems. I’ll read a poem, offer a few jump-off lines, read the poem again and ask us to write as poorly as possible, pen never leaving the page and just say yes to whatever arises. We’ll write for up to fifteen minutes per poem and then we’ll go around the circle and read what we have written. We’ll listen to each other without any comment, critique or cross talk. What’s written in the room will stay in the room. It’s a come as you are party, whether you have lots of or no writing experience, where you can leave your perfectionism at the door. There’s no need to impress us because we’ll be writing poorly together.

My teaching is an offering. All workshop fees will go to the Ashland Community Food Bank.
