In-person, four Wild Writing sessions in Ashland

This offering will take place on Saturdays in Ashland on October 24 and on November 7, 14 and 21 from 2-4 p.m. except that the fourth session on November 21 will be from Noon-2 p.m.

$100- All proceeds go to the Jackson County Library Foundation

Come wild write in a small group of no more than eight of us. We’ll do three writes in each session.  I’ll read a poem, offer prompts or “jump-off-lines” and read it again and offer the prompts again. Then we’ll write for up to fifteen minutes, pens never leaving the page, just saying yes to whatever arises.  It’s a wonderful opportunity to leave your perfectionism at the door and write as poorly as possible. Really. 

After each writing period, we’ll go around the circle and read what we wrote. And here’s the secret sauce of Wild Writing.  We read without interruption, comment, critique or any discussion.  We witness and honor each other’s voice. This fosters safety and intimacy. And, needless to say, what’s written in the room stays in the room.

Wild Writing with the same group for four sessions is an unusual opportunity to deepen your personal exploration and get to know about others’ experiences without any comment, critique or discussion of what we write.
